Altar Servers

The altar servers assist the priest during weekend Masses. There is also the need for altar servers during the week for Holy Days. Children who have received their first communion and older are welcome to become altar servers. Training is provided and we allow siblings to serve together. Catechists

Volunteer to teach our religious education students. Children Kindergarten to 12th grade meet during the school year to learn about the Catholic Faith. Kindergarten to 6th grade meets on Wednesdays from 4:15 – 5:30 pm and 7th – 12th grade meets from 6:30 – 8:00 pm. Please contact Natalie at re@btsje.org or Teresa Bettag (7-11) at teresa.bettag@btsje.org or contact the Parish Office to volunteer. Training and materials provided. Safeguarding is necessary.


Greeters

The greeters provide a first welcome to Mass for both parishioners and visitors. Volunteers are adults or families and need to be friendly and welcoming. Contact Judy Grey (452-0609) to volunteer





Lay Distributors

Eucharistic Ministers assist the priest in distributing the Body and Blood of Christ at the Mass. This is open to anyone who is Confirmed and older. Training is provided. One can do the Body or Blood or both. Contact Connie Katchkey (452-0609) or the parish office (452-9623) to volunteer.




Lectors

Lectors proclaim the Word of God during the weekend Masses and Holy Days. This is open to anyone in Grade 5 and older. This is a wonderful way to participate in the Mass and learn important public speaking skills. Training will be provided prior to reading at Mass. Contact the Parish Office to volunteer.




Ushers

The Usher greets parishioners and visitors when they enter church for Mass. They also take up the collection and help guide the Communion process. Parishioners who are Confirmed or older are welcome to be an usher. Training is provided. Contact the parish office (452-9623) to volunteer.
